Department of Computer Science
Workshop Dates: July 10, 2013 - July 12, 2013
Georgetown University is pleased to announce a three-day hands-on workshop for STEM middle school and high school teachers in the Washington, D.C. area. The workshop will take place from July 10th - July 12th. This workshop is made possible in part by a generous gift from the Google CS4HS (Computer Science for High School) program.
The theme of the workshop is the Raspberry Pi, which is a tiny, inexpensive, programmable personal computer. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to build and program a simple computer. PLUS, we will teach participants how to integrate Raspberry Pi into traditional science classes.
The workshop will provide an introduction to the Raspberry Pi hardware, the Raspbian operating system, and the Scratch and Python programming languages. This is a hands-on workshop. Participants will receive a Raspberry Pi (Model B), accessories, and workshop materials to use during the workshop and to take back to their classrooms after the workshop ends.
We had a great workshop last week! More details coming soon.
