Elissa Redmiles selected as delegate to EU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC)

Prof. Elissa Redmiles was a delegate representing the US for the EU-US Trade & Technology Council Ministerial Meeting Technical Workshops of Working Group 5 on ‘From Data to Solutions Against Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence’

Prof. Redmiles was selected to represent The White House, as well as the broader U.S. research community, as a delegate at the 6th Bilateral EU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC) in Leuven, Belgium. She spoke to an audience that included EU Commissioner Thierry Breton about how her group’s research uses data to offer solutions against Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence and how the new EU Digital Services Act can aid future research.

The EU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC) is a collaboration between the Biden administration and the European Commission. The objective of the TTC is “to promote U.S. and EU competitiveness and prosperity and the spread of democratic, market-oriented values by increasing transatlantic trade and investment in products and services of emerging technology, strengthening our technological and industrial leadership, boosting innovation, and protecting and promoting critical and emerging technologies and infrastructure.”
