The Google for Developer’s 2023 Solution Challenge involves developing a software solution that addresses one or more of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. CS majors Reed Uhlik, Matt Jordan, Chloe Meuse, and Chris Tenegy developed FoodMe, an application that connects users with food to donate with users who want or need food. The application supports the UN’s goals of zero hunger and responsible consumption and production of food.
Of more than 2000 entries, FoodMe was selected as one of the top 100 submissions. It was one of three US entries selected. The team now heads into the next phase of the competition, which will results in the selection of the top 10 finalists. The competition culminates with the selection of the top 3 winners.
