The Department of Computer Science at Georgetown University has been awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace (SaTC) grant totaling $1,200,000 ($542K for Georgetown) for the project Socio-Technical Interventions Against AI-Generated Abuse

This interdisciplinary effort brings together faculty from Georgetown (Elissa Redmiles, Sarah Adel Bargal, and Yoshi Kohno), Florida International University (Asia Eaton), and the University of Colorado Denver (Amy Adele Hasinoff).

The project investigates AI-generated abuse and synthetic non-consensual imagery using innovative socio-technical methods, integrating technical interventions with social science approaches.
