Virtual Learning

This page provides information on virtual learning for Computer Science courses. Information will be added here as it becomes available. Students are advised to monitor the communication from their instructors, for instance, via email or page for their course in Canvas.

The information below is sorted by the course number (with section numbers when multiple instructors teach a course).

  • COSC 010 (Philip Buffum): Please see the Canvas page for the course for the Zoom link and other course information.
  • COSC 030 (Mahe Velauthapillai): Zoom information will be provided via Canvas and the course website.
  • COSC 051-01 (Ray Essick): Lecture material will be delivered via Zoom during regularly-scheduled course sessions; recordings of condensed versions of this material will also be made available. Office hours via Zoom (at usual times or by appointment) and Piazza will also be available. Full details including Zoom links will be posted on Piazza.
  • COSC 051-02 and 051-03 (W. Addison Woods): Lectures will take place during normally scheduled times via Zoom. See the Canvas site for links to Zoom meetings. Office hours will also be virtual via Zoom. See the TA Calendar for times and Canvas for links to virtual office hours.
  • COSC 052-01 (Mark Maloof): The lectures will be via Zoom, and the Zoom information is posted on Piazza for the course.
  • COSC 052-02 (W. Addison Woods): Lectures will take place during normally scheduled times via Zoom. See the Canvas site for links to Zoom meetings. Office hours will also be virtual via Zoom. See the TA Calendar for times and Canvas for links to virtual office hours.

  • COSC 240 (Cal Newport): Lectures and office hours will occur during the normally scheduled time using Zoom. The midterm will become a take home midterm completed during the normal class period (with a zoom meeting setup for questions). Problem sets will be submitted electronically. All relevant information, including links to the zoom meetings and information about the midterm and problem set submissions can be found on the normal course web site (http://people.cs.georgetown.edu/~cnewport/teaching/cosc240-spring20/).
  • COSC 255 (J. Montgomery): Lectures to be held via Zoom. Zoom information distributed via Canvas.

  • COSC 475 (J. Montgomery): Lecture held during regular scheduled time, via Canvas Zoom link.
  • COSC 482 (Achim Ruopp): Lecture recordings will be posted on course Canvas site (https://georgetown.instructure.com/courses/104151). Class presentations and lecture questions/discussions in Zoom meetings (see class Canvas calendar). Office hours by appointment via Zoom.

  • COSC 536 (Matt Blaze): The course will meet at the scheduled time via Zoom. Please see the course Canvas page for information and instructions for accessing the Zoom page. Updates will be posted via Canvas announcements.
  • COSC 545 (Cal Newport): Lectures and office hours will occur during the normally scheduled times using Zoom. Problem sets will be submitted electronically.
