The Department of Computer Science hosted its annual CS Career Day on October 10, bringing together students, faculty and CS alumni employers for a day of career insights and community. This event is unique because Georgetown CS alumni return to campus to share their experience and advice with current students.

Mastering the Tech Interview—The day opened with the “Mastering the Tech Interview” panel, featuring Georgetown alumni Andrew Gamino-Cheong (BS CS and Government ‘15), Reed Uhlik (BS CS and Economics ‘25), and Chris Wacek, (BA CS and Economics 2009; MS CS ‘13)—now leaders and innovators at Trustible, The D.E. Shaw Group, and ARCTOS, respectively.

The panelists shared practical insights for preparing for technical interviews in the AI era—discussing what skills employers value, how to make resumes stand out, and how to communicate effectively. (Stay tuned for an upcoming article featuring highlights of the discussion)

Career Networking Session—In the afternoon, students connected with GU alumni representatives and Georgetown-based research centers. Alumni shared information about companies, finding jobs in this market, and opportunities to enhance their programming and research experience.

Happy Hour—The day concluded with a Happy Hour where students, faculty and alumni re-connected—celebrating the strengths of the GU Computer Science community.
